Harlech Castle
Harlech Castle sits in a spectacular location looking out to the sea.The English monarch Edward I built Harlech castle in the late 13th century to contain the Welsh in their mountain strongholds.The castle has massive inner walls and towers and you can climb the stairs up to the battlements to enjoy the panoramic views.

Portmeirion
You will enjoy spending a day at Portmeirion amongst the distinctive buildings designed by Clough Williams-Ellis. The Prisoner, an influential television series in the 1960s, was filmed there.

Porthmadog
Porthmadog is always worth a visit. Here you can stroll around the shops or sit watching the boats in the harbour.
Porthmadog is the place to catch the Festiniog Railway train that takes you on a 13½ mile journey from the harbour in Porthmadog to the slate-quarrying town of Blaenau Ffestiniog. The train climbs over 700 feet from sea level into the mountains.

Barmouth
The old town is well worth a visit with its steep steps and slate-roofed cottages on the side of a mountain. The harbour is beautiful and you can walk across the spectacular Barmouth Bridge spanning the river. Barmouth also has a funfair from March to October.
